Nepal Telecom offers massive discount in Fiber Internet

Nepal Telecom NT, a telecom giant in Nepal, have offered a various discount offer in fiber internet. Currently it have decrease it’s tariff and price went as low as Rs 8000/Year. This price covers all the taxes, fiber cable and the devices installed on the customer end.

At the present time, NT is providing internet connectivity from ADSL (Asynchronous Dgital subscriber Line), EVDO and WiMax. In comparison to , those services are limited in bandwidth, huge loss, high attenuation and error prone. But after using FTTH, these all problems are mitigated. Further, users can increase or decrease the bandwidth as required.

Currently, there are more than 20 ISP in whole Nepal providing internet through Fiber. They are now in major cities and are expanding their services. With regardless to accessibility, they are even charging more money.

How to connect Nepal Telecom Fiber internet in our home?

In order to get connected by NT fiber, customer should fill up the form and submit online in NT website. The form can be downloaded from here. Instead, customers can simply go and visit the nearby NT office and get the information.

Secondly, Site survey and estimation will be carried out by NT. Site survey includes site assessment (outdoor & indoor), equipment termination point and route of fiber drop cable. After that, service will be provided based on the distribution point feasibility and Service availability.

Fiber installation, CPE installation and configuration will be carried out by NT. In detail, Customer Premise Equipment is a device that will be used in customer end for internet access.

Certainly this process may take 1-2 days because NT is public company and is quite slow but I assured that fiber internet won’t be slow.

In conclusion, price of NT fiber is within the budget list. Along with, it also give a strong competition to other ISP. However, NT is only providing in major cities only so this service can’t be accessible to all people. In future, lets hope NT will provide services in every places.
