In this post, we are going to share the steps to setup ADSL in Nepal Telecom which will work for all the routers and their different models available in the market like TP-Link, Toto link, D-Link, Digicom, Linksys, Mikrotik, Belkin, Cisco, Sanscord, Digisol, Netgear, Tenda, Xiaomi, Huawei, TIANJIE, Wavlink, and many more.
Just follow the below steps and you will be ready to surf the ADSL internet.
1. Login to your router via the IP address and username/password given below of the router. Generally, it have IP address of 192.168.1.1 If you are not known of the router IP address, don’t worry: check below/side of the router, you will surely get the IP address with username and password written there.
2. Now, put the following details, which is seen in WAN settings under network setting.
VPI — 8
VCI — 81
encapsulation — PPPOE/LLC
Authentication — Auto
3. Then, put the username and password which is given by Nepal telecom office during ADSL subscription. If you don’t know, don’t worry this username and password is same for all the user.
username: adslXXXXXX , where XXXXX= your own telephone number, eg: adsl1428986 or adsl71417865, etc which compromise local area code+ telephone number. Note: don’t put the “0” of the local area code. Like in Kathmandu, the local area code is 01. So don’t put 0 of the local area code.
password: same as username
After this, you have done the most important settings. Now further you can change the wifi password settings as required.
