Nepal Telecom have now expanded its 4G LTE network in 50 major places of Nepal.
Nepal Telecom on October 2, 2019 have officially launched the 4G LTE network in additional 50 cities. NT have expanded 4G LTE prior to Dashain.
Before NT have been providing 4G LTE in Kathmandu and Pokhara Valley. NT was first operator to launch 4G in Nepal in 2017 but was limited to only 2 places. Later, Ncell and Smartcell expanded its 4G LTE network. Due to hurdles, NT couldnot expand its 4G network while other telecom operator was ahead in the market.
Now users of Nepal Telecom can avail the 4G LTE network in these recently coverage area. The 50 places are:
In Nepal Telecom dial *444#. Then you will see the message top up if the SIM can support 4G or not. If not just visit the nearest Nepal Telecom offices and grab the one as the SIM exchange is free for now.
For first time 4G activation, NT have announced the offer of free 200 MB data with a validity of 2 days.
In expansion, Ncell is huge ahead and Ncell is expanding 4G network rapidly. Ncell already have its 4G in 1000 places and in next few months, they likely to cover almost all the major places with 4G. They have been doing the homework very seriously as they likely to remain the top in terms of 4G subscribers.
Meanwhile Nepal Telecom who have launched 4G in 2017 have been stagnant for 2 years in 4G expansion. In this duration, Ncell have grab the market and took opportunities. But now, NT is also in game for 4G expansion. Meanwhile this 50 places is just a fraction for Ncell in 4G LTE expansion project. NT have committed to expand 4G in every places of Nepal by Feburary 2020.
