TikTok officially registered in Nepal-Opens for Tax collection

TikTok, social media platform have been officially registered in Nepal. This was an effect as TikTok formally was banned for almost 9 months.

TikTok registration in Nepal is under Digital Service Tax. It have open the path for government to collect the tax. This will add the revenue as source from social media. Earlier, Facebook, LinkedIn and Viber were registered in Nepal.

Communication and Information Technology Ministry’s joint secretary and spokesperson Gajendra Kumar Thakur said that the recently popular social network TikTok has been officially registered after submitting the necessary documents. TikTok got its PAN card to run the business in Nepal.

Earlier this month, after TikTok’s ban was lifted, company have announced vacancy for legal representative for Nepal. That vacancy was a green signal in approaching the registration in Nepal.
